Inspiration from The Bible

“…We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.” Acts 14:15 (NIV)

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 (NIV)

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 (NIV)

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 (NIV)

Note from the composer: Humans need God. And if we don’t have a relationship with Him, if we have not accepted His gift of salvation through His son, Jesus, there is something missing in our hearts. We can substitute other things to fill that gap. Things like pleasure, wealth, and/or fame. But ultimately, none of that fills the emptiness. None of it satisfies the innate longing for a relationship with our creator, our Heavenly Father. We know we have sinned, but it’s tempting to think we can make up for that sin by doing good things. But that is not possible. We have sinned against God, and there is only one way to be forgiven and live in eternal peace: by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepting Him as our Savior.

LYRICS

CHORUS
G-G-G-Good News (Good New, Good News)
G-G-G-Good News for you. (Good New, Good News)
We’ve got good news for you (Good New, Good News)
We’ve got good news for you.

VERSE 1
Every day the same empty feeling again
Is coming back to haunt your soul
Every day you blame how you’re failing again
To keep it under control

VERSE 2
Something down inside you is breaking your heart
But what are you supposed to do?
You want to make it right, oh, but where do you start
To fix the problems in you?
To fix the problems in you?

(CHORUS)

VERSE 3
Every single day just the same as before
How can people live with this?
You can crash and burn like the rest of the world
Or find the answer in Him

VERSE 4
Jesus is the way, He can turn you around
He can finally set you free
Trust Him as your Savior, believe in Him now
To live forever in peace
To live forever in peace

BRIDGE
To live forever
You think there’s got to be a way to save yourself from this
But you could never wash away the stains of all your sin
It’s easy but it’s hard to face the living truth
Of Jesus on the cross, he bled and died for you

FINALE
Yes, Jesus is the way, He can turn you around
He can finally set you free
Trust Him as your Savior, believe in Him now
To live forever in peace, eternal peace
To live forever in peace
